Dream Team Advice

Hello, Unfortunatly I am not going to be able to compete in dream team this year. So I thought I would try to help out any newcommers to Dream team as to what to expect and offer my advice and help if you want to reach out for it. I have competed in 7 Dream Teams and have had my share of sucess as well as failures. These are some of my Thoughts:

  • Plan your meals. It's much easier to stick to your diet if you have your meals planned out for the day. The most important thing you can do for success is follow Bills diet plan. Missing a meal is just as bad as eating a pizza!!
  • Don't get obsessed with the scale. It's easy to want to get on the scale every day and that can lead to frustration. The most important day is weigh in day and if you are doing the right things the results will come.
  • Be patient. Solid gains (or losses) take time. It takes a couple of weeks for your body to get used to your new way of fueling it. With Bills diet you will get to a point, if you are doing it correctly, that you feel hungry soon after you eat. This is a good thing and means your metabolism is up. That is what you are trying to do. Remember if your hungry it's working!!
  • Establish a team goal. recognize the team member who does the best each and encourage those who are struggling. Stay in touch with each other throughout the day and help each other be accountable for staying on track.
  • You can't fool the scale. If you are up there is a reason. Be honest with yourself.
  • Listen to your trainer. Bill has them as trainers because he knows they will train you right They have been on this journey many times so they know what to expect.
  • Dont shortchange yourself on workouts. Give 110% on everything you do. Cardio included. Its is very important you keep good form on your weights. Its not about how much weight you can move, Its about how much you can do correctly.
  • Don't skip cardio. Cardio is what jump starts your metabolism and if you do it correctly will continue to burn calories all day.Really I should say dont skip a workout. If you miss your regular time, Bill will let you come in when you can to make it up.
  • Make it fun!, the best part of this contest is sharing the journey with your teammates and others in the gym. Theres nothing like that feeling when you recieve your first compliment from friends/coworkers on how great you look.
  • Get a before picture taken. I see alot of people who are uncomfortable doing this but believe me, when you see what you have done at the end of 16 weeks its worth it!
  • Dont listen to people outside the gym. You will run into your share of people who think they know everything and discourage you.It can even be your spouse or significant other! (mine was supportive and it helped tremendously )
